Your new company

We are seeking two WHS Advisors (AO5/1) to join a leading Queensland Government department delivering building and maintenance services across the state in a safety-critical environment. The roles are based in East Brisbane and South-West Brisbane, offered as 6-month contracts with immediate start.

Your new role

In this role, you will provide operational WHS advice, support, and guidance across a diverse portfolio of construction and maintenance activities. Working closely with the WHS Manager and Principal WHS Advisors, you will contribute to the implementation and ongoing improvement of the organisation's Safety Management System.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Experience in a WHS advisory capacity within construction, maintenance, or a related high-risk environment
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and relevant standards, with the ability to apply these in an operational context
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build effective working relationships
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety and/or relevant industry experience will be highly regarded.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
