The Role

We're partnering with a premium professional services firm seeking an experienced, commercially minded Safety and People Risk Manager to join their People team. This newly created opportunity allows for creativity and growth. It offers a high-profile, national platform to operate as a trusted advisor across people risk, workplace relations, and regulatory compliance.  

Reporting to the Head of People Risk and Compliance, you will balance expert advisory support with hands-on delivery across the business, driving a real impact on a national scale. Your primary focus will include:

  • Safety, Wellbeing & Injury Management: Leading the continuous improvement of the Health and Safety Management System (HSMS). You will provide expert advice on WHS obligations, coordinate risk assessments, and manage workers' compensation and return-to-work adjustments.
  • Psychosocial Safety & Compliance: Driving the firm's psychosocial risk management approach-including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control implementation-in alignment with WHS obligations, Respect@Work principles, and the firm's positive duty.
  • People Risk & Governance: Leading the operational implementation and maturity of the People Risk Management System (PRMS). You will design internal governance processes, conduct assurance activities, and prepare strategic insights for leadership and Board reporting.
  • Policy, Training & Strategy Frameworks: Reviewing and maintaining safety and risk policies, developing and delivering firm-wide training programs, and translating legislative shifts into practical, risk-based guidance.
  • Stakeholder Partnership: Partnering closely with Partners and business leaders to provide practical advice, building a risk-aware workplace culture, and supporting strategic People & Development initiatives.
About You

You are a seasoned WHS and people risk professional (or a senior HR Generalist with heavy exposure to safety governance and risk systems) who brings strong technical capability in compliance, hazard management, and injury frameworks. You possess a sophisticated approach to navigating complex stakeholder environments, allowing you to partner effectively with senior leadership.
