  • High autonomy with real influence
  • Execute, embed and drive change
  • Partner with leaders, drive outcomes

Your new company

This is an opportunity to join a well-established Australian business at a pivotal stage of its journey. Operating across multiple states and employing more than 200 people, the organisation has ambitious growth plans and is investing in the capability, structure and leadership of its People & Culture function. With a clear business roadmap already in place, the focus is on execution, building leadership capability and creating scalable people practices that support continued growth. As part of this investment, an experienced Human Resources Manager will join the business to lead the operational HR function and become a trusted partner to leaders across the organisation. This is a genuine opportunity to make an impact, influence outcomes and help shape how HR supports the business moving forward.

Your new role

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day delivery of HR across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the action. You will execute, embed and implement people initiatives, coach leaders through people challenges and ensure the operational HR engine runs effectively across a diverse workforce.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading employee relations matters across performance, conduct, grievances and workplace investigations
  • Coaching and developing leaders to confidently manage their own people challenges
  • Providing practical advice on employment legislation, awards and workplace compliance
  • Supporting payroll, HR systems, workforce planning and employee life cycle processes
  • Leading return to work, workers' compensation and psychosocial risk initiatives
  • Building strong relationships across both office and operational teams
  • Embedding people programs, policies and processes across the business
  • Driving consistency, accountability and operational excellence across all people activities
This is not a role focused on creating strategy. The strategy and business direction already exist. Your role will be to bring it to life, drive adoption and ensure HR delivers meaningful outcomes across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for a commercially-minded HR professional who is known for getting things done. You may currently be an HR Manager or Senior HR Business Partner looking for a broader remit and greater influence across a growing business.
  • Strong generalist HR experience across employee relations, recruitment, compliance and leadership coaching
  • Experience supporting operational, blue-collar or multi-site workforces
  • Industry experience within construction, property, manufacturing, infrastructure or a similar environment is essential.
  • Well-developed knowledge of Australian employment legislation and workplace relations
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience operating in fast-paced and evolving environments
  • The confidence to challenge respectfully and build credibility quickly
Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, works with initiative and follows through. You are proactive rather than reactive, comfortable operating autonomously and known for turning ideas into action.

What you'll get in return

  • Join a business with a clear vision, strong leadership team and ambitious plans for the future
  • The opportunity to influence leaders and have a visible impact on business performance
  • High levels of autonomy, ownership and visibility across the organisation
  • A role that offers genuine scope to build capability, improve processes and help shape the future of the People & Culture function
  • A broad and varied role where no two days look the same
