Your new company
Our client is a leading Tasmanian design and construction business that delivers industrial, commercial and specialised building projects across the state. With an integrated approach spanning planning, design and construction, they partner closely with clients to create purpose built facilities that drive growth, productivity and long term value.
Following continued expansion and an exciting period of growth, they are now seeking an experienced HSEQ Coordinator to join their team.
Your new role
As HSEQ Coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting and strengthening health, safety, environmental and quality systems across multiple construction sites throughout Tasmania. Working closely with operational leaders, you will provide practical advice, conduct site inspections and audits, manage incidents and injury management processes, coordinate training and inductions, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.
You'll also play a key role in developing policies, procedures and systems as the organisation continues to mature and grow. This role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to make a visible impact across the business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will bring previous HSEQ experience within construction, industrial or a similar high risk environment, together with strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, codes of practice and compliance requirements. You will be a highly personable and relationship focused professional, capable of building credibility with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
Strong communication and active listening skills will be essential, as will your ability to influence positive safety outcomes through collaboration rather than enforcement alone.
This role will suit someone who thrives in a growing and evolving environment. You'll enjoy working within an agile business where no two days are the same, be comfortable adapting to changing priorities, and have the confidence to contribute to the development of systems, processes and continuous improvement initiatives. The ability to balance compliance requirements with practical, real world outcomes will be highly valued.
Mandatory requirements include:
- White Card
- Qualification in HSEQ and/or relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience within construction, industrial or related environments
- Proven injury management and return to work coordination experience
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice and compliance requirements
- Experience developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures and safety systems
- Strong administration and reporting capability, including experience using Excel, Smartsheet or similar systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A personable, approachable and collaborative working style
- The ability to work effectively in an agile, fast growing environment
- Willingness to travel throughout Tasmania, including occasional overnight stays when required
What you'll get in return
A salary package that includes a company vehicle and the opportunity to join a growing Tasmanian organisation with ambitious plans for the future, a dedicated training budget and genuine opportunities to influence how health, safety, environment and quality are managed across the business.
