We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a leading organisation on a 6‑month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This role is based onsite in the Sydney CBD and supports a high‑performing group of technical and engineering researchers, providing WHS guidance across complex research, laboratory and engineering environments.
About the Role
In this position, you will play a key part in coordinating and implementing WHS processes, supporting risk assessments, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and internal safety frameworks. You will work closely with academics, researchers, professional staff, and technical specialists to promote safe work practices and uphold a proactive health and safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide WHS advice and support across technical, engineering and research settings.
- Assist with risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures and hazard management.
- Coordinate WHS training, inductions and awareness initiatives.
- Support incident investigations, audits, inspections and safety reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of health and safety processes and systems.
- Build effective, trusting relationships with researchers, academics and stakeholders at all levels.
About You
- Previous experience in WHS within complex or research/engineering environments.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders, including academics, technical specialists and culturally diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk management and incident response.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Engineering, technical or science background highly regarded.

- 6‑month temporary contract with possible extension
- $600 per day + super
- Onsite role based in the
Sydney CBD - Full‑time hours, Monday to Friday
