The GM P&C will lead a dedicated HR team through the maturation of the HR function. This role is focused on the successful implementation of core HR and safety processes while fostering a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

key accountabilities:

• Serve as a trusted advisor and coach to the Group General Manager and Leadership team, translating business vision into actionable P&C strategy.
• Help lead the upcoming multi-employer bargaining campaign, ensuring innovative, commercially beneficial agreements while fostering positive union relations.
• Lead complex organisational design and change management programs to support our evolving operating model.
• Facilitate senior leadership talent management, succession planning, and development, ensuring recruitment and movement decisions complement overall leadership team effectiveness.
• Govern the end-to-end employee lifecycle - from data-driven HR metrics and performance management to recruitment and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate is experienced in heading people functions in large, safety-critical environments. They will bring a sophisticated understanding of the Australian IR landscape, specifically regarding enterprise bargaining and union engagement, alongside the ability to influence within complex matrix structures. Commercially minded and pragmatic, they possess the resilience to provide healthy challenge to senior executives while delivering results in a fast-paced setting.
